Interesting question: will the GOP be going through the same thing in 3 years or so when they are considering their agenda and their candidate in 2028? MAGA vs others? There may or may not be some backlash to Trump's policies down the road. Times change, and what is popular now might not be so popular then.

Re the democrats, who the hell knows what they're going to do. I doubt they will change their agenda to be more moderate, although I am sure they will try to convince enough voters that such is the case. But I see no evidence of that so far and I do not see any moderate democrat getting their nomination.

Call those who they disagree with deplorables, garbage, racists, Nazis, and every other name in the book.

Many have called on family members who voted for Trump to be shunned and not invited to family gatherings.

When Trump gives a speech on live TV, don't stand and clap for a black 13 year old brain cancer survivor.

Reminds me of back in 2016 while Hillary was running in the so called primaries, she distanced herself from other candidates who all wanted a minimum wage of $15 per hour and she insisted on just $12 per hour because $15 would be bad for small business. Then, one day, a journalist asked her if she was elected president and had a democrat House and Senate and they sent her a bill for $15, would she sign it and she said, "Sure". Guess she didn't really care about small business after all.

The GOP already went through it in 2016.

That's the endemic chinese finger trap that Dems are stuck with:

The GOP cast off its establishment class in favor of MAGA populism.

The Dems shunned their own version of it when they shivved Bernie.

And now they're stuck with an internecine conflict that is eviscerating their party.
