Lunar eclipse

At 8:06 Eastern time tonight there will be a full lunar eclipse, the weather looks good, so get the telescopes ready!

Been watching since the moon came out! went from a HUGE glow - to a colorful ring around it, now it's 3/4 black!!!! got a couple of pictures, but don't have a powerful telephoto on it, so not the greatest!

Was just outside, looks cool! Just an extremely small portion is still showing, should be gone within 20 minutes.

Now, it would have completed the picture, to be camping in the mountains, away from the ambient lights of the NY suburbs, with a nice camp fire and a fine wine. Oh well, another time perhaps.
