The answer is even easier than that.

Base entry into the league on sex and not gender.

This is, essentially, what we have always done. I have no idea why this was ever questioned. It is moronic to think that male and females are the same and should compete together, they are not.

We never separated leagues because of gender, no one cared about gender. We separated them because sex does matter in physical competitions and that is just a fact.

Your point is correct, but you’ve got the chromosomes reversed: xx is female and xy is male.
