When I was a kid, disruptive students who had no interest in learning were suspended until they were expelled. Students who were willing to learn or at least follow directoons, but unable to learn the regular curriculum, were mercifully separated and educated as best as they could be by teachers who chose to work with those kind of kids. Violent kids went to Juvie.

Then public schools taught the rest about as well as private schools. In those days kids went to private schools to avoid desegregation, get a religious education or avoid mixing with poor kids. Parents didn’t have to dream about someday affording a school that would teach their kids while being forced to fund schools which did not.

They put the special ed kids in temporary buildings by the basketball court. They were taught what they could learn, but they were not allowed to drag down the learning of non-disabled kids.

The Today’s News-Herald reported that middle school science teacher Samantha Peer, who made online pornography under the alias “Khloe Karter,” and her husband, Dillon Peer, were former employees of the Lake Havasu Unified School District.

According to the newspaper, middle school students found explicit content made on the Peers’ OnlyFans account and began circulating it amongst themselves, although it was not known how the students found the content in the first place.

I have to say, this lady was quick to go on the offensive.

In a video statement made Friday, Samantha Peer said she and her husband began filming the explicit content because their teacher salaries were no longer enough to support their family, KTLA sister station WFLA reports.

Before turning to adult content, she became an adviser for several clubs and was going to coach softball in the spring to pick up extra stipends.

“My children are the most important thing to me, and I’m already spending countless hours outside of my contract time on extra school activities, and I don’t think it’s fair that I have to sacrifice my own children’s time because our professional salary did not pay enough,” she said.

I like that she's going on the offensive, just from a standpoint of liking to see people stand up for themselves. Moral outrage coming from public school officials these days seems particularly out of place.

Not really keen on that justification, though. If they're both teachers, they are most likely making combined six figures. That doesn't go as far as it used to these days, but it's not low enough to drive people to porn just to get by:

Plus, they had to take time away from the kiddos to make the porn and to manage their account. I'd respect them more if they just said, "we never involved our students, and we tried to keep this away from them. What we do on our own time, is our own business."

Considering the stuff teachers are openly doing and not getting fired for, I'm not in a twist over this.

You would be correct. I wonder if whomever made that meme is a real electrician; I think a real electrician would know better.

Perhaps, some time soon, I should, myself, make a better version of that meme, observing proper use of colored wires, and much better photographic quality.
