Zone1 Losing Fear of the Lord

I wouldn't expect a militant atheists such as yourself to understand.
We don't understand definitions?

Good thing there's dictionaries then. why don't you look up "fear" and post the definition for us?

NO! Children shouldn't fear their parents!
Children should fear the consequence of disobeying parents. I never feared my dad as a person, but I feared what he would do if I was disobedient or rebellious (which I never was). He was old school and had no patience for disobedience or foolishness. I also feared that he might be angry with me for wrongdoing, regardless of the punishment.

So you want me to believe on some else's terms.
No. I mean God will draw you, but he will not force you. Belief is your choice, therefore your terms.

I don't do faith. Lets see some facts.
Again, seek and you shall find. If you want facts, look for them yourself. I am certain you are more than capable.

I've looked. Don't see any.
You mean you haven't seen anything yet. Kind of like all the 49ers who went to California searching for gold. Some didn't find anything...just heard about those who did.

A well-known and respected televangelist fell from grace to the point his behavior handed him a prison sentence. During an interview he was asked, “When did you stop loving the Lord?”

His response was that he never stopped loving the Lord. The problem was that he lost his Fear of the Lord.

Can confidence in God’s forgiveness encroach on an equally needed Fear of the Lord? Do you fear the Lord? In what ways does that affect behavior/actions?

Yes.

We overuse the word "awesome". So we forget that God is AWE-some....generating awe. A little of that awe should be fearful, because of what God has done, and can do.

Like I said before, I wouldn't expect a militant atheist like yourself to understand it.

Reminds me of bow hunting in the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin in the 1950's. Hundreds of novice hunters descended there on the weekends. If someone heard that someone had seen a deer everyone got excited.

Would you accept that "honesty is the best policy" on faith?
That's not an example of faith.

If I assumed you (or anyone else, this isn't an attack) was honest without any real evidence that would be faith.

Without evidence you would have to be suspicious of everyone. But I mean you personally. Do you act honestly on faith that it is the best policy, or do you experiment with dishonesty to see which is the most beneficial?

That's not faith either. That's personal ethics.

And it only applies in the macro.

Think "does this dress make my butt look fat" kinda questions.

Gentle persuasion is effective!
