So I’ll simply note that using our military to assist Chicago become safer from crime is justified by the very laws cited.

And although you apparently object to how the President couched what’s about to come (and, by the way, I also wish he had chosen to use a different way of phrasing it), you haven’t identified what’s wrong with using the law to finally assist the crime stricken residents of Chicago.

Clearly, the local and State government, there, isn’t doing the job or can’t.

How are Vietnamese US citizens expected to perceive that post? Would you make such a post if you were president of this country?

What if a future German leader made a similar post with some movie about WW2 as the back story glorifying German atrocities?

I have to go with the latter. Trump clearly wants to be a "strong man" ruler, so it's not at all surprising to see him go there. But he gets more ridiculous by the day. It's like some sci-fi comedy about and an eight year old and an old man that change bodies.

As I tell my wife I should not be shocked by anything the man says (or posts) yet despite that fact I am still shocked at least once a week.

I'm shocked that this is not being met by a huge public outcry, I never saw the US to be the kind of country where a President would behave this way. I was naive to believe that racism was slowly fading away, that the country had struggled but was generally improving in some ways.

The post is extremely frightening to Vietnamese people living here, the movie treats the slaughter of Vietnamese civilians as a back drop and dwells on the US as the victim, he even paraphrases the speech about napalm - chemical warfare - that to this day cause thousands of cruel birth defects to Vietnamese families, it is estimated that to-date 150,000 children have been born who are impacted by some form of agent orange anomaly.

Given that context I am stunned that he would imply an American city might be treated in the same way.
