Looks like a fun movie....Project Hail Mary

OK, I'm trying to figure out if this is based on a book, by the same author who wrote the book which launched another space move, The Martian? Something tells me this will be the hit movie of the summer, and it's hard to believe it has been 10 years since The Martian came out. Wow, times flies.

From what I understand it is.

I think that Hollywood is going to start a trend of more films about outer space. The question I have about this one is whether Gosling goes up on SpaceX or Blue Origin, and whether we see a Tesla or Amazon logo on his ship.

That was a really good book. The Martian author wrote this and it was very science feeling like the Martian. I have hopes and I am not one who expects the exact same story as the book so I am open to whatever this is as long as it looks entertaining.. it does.

Yes, same author.

I am listening to the audiobook of the Project Hail Mary book right now. I should be finished by tomorrow.

I wanted to digest it before seeing the movie.

The Project Hail Mary book is far more science intense than The Martian, yet it does not overwhelm. The science stuff takes off like a rocket right out of the gate and does not let up.

It helps the author is brilliant at making the science accessible.

Of course, there is now way of knowing how accurate the science is, but the parts I understand are accurate.

There is no way all of the details of the story can fit into a movie, unless it was released in sequels.

I highly recommend the book. Especially the audiobook. I have listened to well over a hundred audiobooks, and the narrator of this one is the best narrator I have ever heard. He is amazing.

David Ogen Stiers, who played Major Winchester on M.A.S.H., is also a phenomenal narrator.
