What New Yorker's need to keep in mind is that Covid showed the big financial institutions that they can run their businesses remotely or from some place much cheaper than NYC and just keep a tiny foot print in Manhattan. If Mamdani thinks he can pay for his pie in the sky freebies by taxing the crap out of huge corporations based in NYC he's in for a rude awakening. They'll pack up and head to Miami. You want to see a city implode? Watch what happens when those big office buildings downtown start to empty out and nobody is coming in to replace them.
