Trump reignites his push to ban mail-in voting after meeting with Putin

In an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier on Friday, Trump relayed that "one of the most interesting things" Putin told him during the summit had to do with the unreliability of mail-in voting.

"He said: 'Your election was rigged because you have mail-in voting. ... It’s impossible to have mail-in voting and have honest elections,’” Trump said, adding that Putin told him "no country" has mail-in voting.

Trump said he and the Russian leader spoke last week about what they see as the problems with mail-in voting. Since then, Trump has pushed again for the U.S. to end the practice.

Vlad, whispering sweet nothings in Don's ear, decided to play on trump's obsession with losing the 2020 election. Imagine how delighted Putin was when playing to Don's fragile ego resulted in this.

Trump says he will lead 'movement' to end mail-in voting

During his condemnation of mail in ballots he said he didn't think any other nation allowed it.

Key points
  • According to the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, 34 countries or territories allow some form of mail-in voting (also known as postal voting).
  • Of those 34, 12 countries allow all voters to vote by mail, including Canada, Germany, and South Korea.
But hey, we are all used to trump getting his facts wrong. It's a given. More importantly, it was Putin who made the suggestion trump get rid of of mail-in ballots.

Can you imagine a US prez being so susceptible to suggestion that he would say he was going to act on advice given by a dictator who doesn't allow free and fair elections in his country. Even though mail-in ballots have been proven to be safe and secure.

In simple terms, Putin put a thought in trump's head and trump is acting on it.

This is a moment when trump fans need to consider whether they think it is fine and dandy for Putin to be indirectly forming election policy for this government.

Voting is up to the states. Once again out with the states rights.

Trump has your ear. You listen to everything Trump says and can't get enough. It's what fills your day.

Yes, trump should not be able to dictate to states the way they conduct elections.

But the point of the thread is to highlight Putin's influence on the POTUS. He blew smoke up Dotard's ass by telling him what he wanted to hear........that he won in 2020 (he didn't). Then telling him mail-in ballots can't be trusted........though they can.

I'm not sure I have ever seen a more definitive example of a foreign leader, a US adversary, a war criminal, a mass murderer, influencing a US prez over how to conduct elections. Elections being a sham in Russia.

Putin cares more about US election integrity than the Dimwinger Cult.

Sez it all right there, folks.

Anyone can play Trump this way.

Yes, I pay attention to the news. But, enough of that deflection. Are you okay with trump being influenced in this way. Cuz I think it's as batshyte crazy as it is dangerous.

It is said he believes whatever the last person in the room tells him. But whoever that person is he or she must be trusted by Don. Meaning Don trusts what Putin tells him. That should cause red lights to be flashing.

Well, Putin isn't a communist. The point being he was lying about trump winning in 2020 and lying about the legitimacy of mail-in ballots. More importantly, trump believed the lies. Putin knew he would because trump had been flattered.

Wait............you mean trump didn't know he was being lied to? Gee, imagine that. An uninformed moron made a decision to end mail-in voting based on a lie from a dictator. Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

There is a difference between general mail-in voting and mail-in voting with an excuse, such as military service, or illness.
Here in CO we have almost exclusive mail-in voting and are a model for the rest of the country. Voting here is very safe and accurate.
