I did a search at the Zon for breakfast cereals and they all say SNAP EBT eligible. And they're expensive - like $4 a pound!! Food stamps should only be good for rice, WW flour, rolled oats, bananas, and canned beans. Cheap nourishing food.

It really amazes me how anxious conservatives who are supposed to stand for limited government are eager to give the government control now over what they eat, foolishly thinking that it is OK just because it only affect that "other" guy, stupidly forgetting that once that door is opened, government will be coming after all of us as well.

I really think the only people who are not subjected to "junk food" are the Aboriginals from the outback of Australia who eat larvae and catch snakes, toss them directly into a live fire until burnt black, then eat them without ketchup, mustard or Vegemite. The rest of us are compelled to eat non-food chemicals from laboratories.

So if all forms of welfare (Cash, medicaid, food stamps, subsidized housing, subsidized childcare, food banks, SSI and many other government/tax payer funded programs) were eliminated......what do you think would happen???

Would there be enough jobs available? What about those that can't work?

BULLSHIT. SNAP is a government-funded charity. If the gov ended SNAP tomorrow, they would just spend the money elsewhere. Trump has cut billions in spending for things like USAID, and not a nickel will be going back to you, so, you are not paying for a thing other than government, which will not change, and government makes the decisions.

No one is questioning anything, they are just trying to cut poor, sick and handicapped people off from benefits by rationalizing it, just as they rationalized that taking Indian land and hoarding Indians into camps was really "good" for them.

It is no one's business what a person eats or how they live, so long as it is within the law, this is just one more bad, short-sighted decision by bureaucrats that will blow up in a lot of people's faces. Worse, the action is the very antithesis of everything this country and conservatism was founded on.
