Pretty cool view of the destruction left from the extreme weather that passed through here the other day, even St. Louis had a tornado near the city that killed 5 people.

Youtube storm chasers were shocked by how delayed the warning were. Many commented about how badly understaffed NOAA/NWS is after the DOGE cuts and how it may have cost lives.

No question, and if you think FEMA was bad before, you aint seen nothing yet. They even canceled the weather balloons and forecasting aspect thanks to DOGE.

Let's cut all essential services and call this a win for taxpayers. :huh1:

Flat land living.....No thanks.

Laurel county, Kentucky in red.

The lies go on and on and on, how gullible can you be?

The NOAA sucks at weather forecasting as Dr. Mass makes clear,

NOAA's Forecast Model Has A Drop Out Problem

May 8, 2025

Excerpt:

Many weather scientists have noted that NOAA's global weather prediction model, the GFS, is now in fourth place, behind the European Center, the UK Meteorology Office, and the Canadians.

This is pretty depressing considering the U.S. spends more on weather prediction research and development than all those groups combined. This NOAA global model is the foundation of U.S. operational weather prediction efforts; thus, Americans are experiencing inferior weather forecasts as a result.

The cuts are badly needed as they are a bloated group using inferior models and poorly run departments.

You are as usual being wrong.

Looked pretty darn flat to me....You could see mountains way off in the distance. Perhaps it was in a valley?

On occasion we get a EF1 or 2 in the Shenandoah Valley proper where it widens out for a few miles between Strasburg and Winchester, Virginia as it's mostly flat. Not often, but it happens.

No lies from me kiddo. It's not like I'm some bloody tRumpling after all.

They are lies because most of the foolish firings were quickly rehired, it isn't number of people is the problem it is the poor modeling forecast quality they persist on using while other weather predicting agencies are so much better.

No they are still in use, please stop LYING about it.

We get tornadoes where I live and I just happen to live in one of the highest locations in the county, the river valley and around it sees the tornadoes, I never bother to worry about tornado warnings where I live, they never track up this high. We had a really bad one back in 2013 that was an EF4 but it hit Sunday morning and people had plenty of warning.

Never let a good crisis go to waste, eh?

Damn shame all the leftists here can do is try to blame Trump. You people are despicable.
Because the senile doddering old fool occupies the desk where the buck stops. His stated goal is to defund most science and do away with FEMA. He has made a start on doing just that, and it is the red states that are suffering the most from his idiocy.

The filth in this administration has created this crisis. 2026!
That's nice. On a positive note, it gives you something to shake your fist at to distract you from your lot in life.
