Every now and then I try. But either the trolls destroy the threads and won't allow any kind of serious discussion or the mods move it to a forum where it won't be seen and/or the trolls can attack it. It's unfortunate. USMB could be so much more satisfying for the logical if it was different. There are a few people who would enjoy a challenging discussion on a given topic. I suspect you would. But I agree it is pretty difficult here.

The Constitution is a dead letter....Has been since at least Eisenhower, if not Wilson.
They aren't timid and weak, they're collaborationists.
I've about decided if the discussion isn't going the way some would like it to go, however careful Zone 1 rules are obeyed, it will be moved out of Zone 1 so that it either disappears from view or the trolls can attack and derail it. It's unfortunate.
They still are all we have to represent us. They may all be in it for themselves but they will do better legislation just because of the people they represent and depend on for campaign funds and votes.
That is the terrifying part.

Where is your proof? Show me the Republicans that are for communism, socialism, gender equality, higher taxes, more regulations...

While some things he did were wrong and cost him re-election, most of what he did was conservative.

The problem ain't the Constitution. The problem is the attack on the Constitution. We are hanging on by a thread while the democrat party attacks the 1st and the 2nd and maybe the 5th Amendments and the Supreme Court. The Constitution is all we have left.
