You should see what they call "protests" in Sioux Falls.

Less than a hundred looky-lous. If they get rowdy and the police need to get involved, everyone goes home at the first puff of pepper spray except a half dozen. As soon as the cuffs come out, three of those leave.

It hasn't changed one bit in the 50 years that have passed since I went to protests in SF.
