Think about that for a second.

Democrats should have seen that coming.

For some reason Democrats watched employers for decades hold staff at 39 hours per week to avoid having to pay benefits and still it didn't cross their minds that with O-care they would be causing struggling workers to lose 10 more hours per week, a week's worth of wages per month.

O-care stunk of unintended consequences. But the fact that it was real people who were going to be reacting to the legislation and real people who were going to get hurt by it didn't matter as long as Dems got to say, "We passed something with a feel-good title."

The democrats knew exactly what pain Obamacare would cause. Obamacare wasn't the end goal, single payer is. Wreck the system, cause catastrophic problems with the economy, screw up health care even worse than it already is, to the point that normal people are demanding something be done, which will be single payer.

Whether you like it or not and no matter what the lib blogosphere tells you, businesses will do what is required to keep the doors open and remain profitable.
If that means cutting hours of workers, reducing worker rolls to les than 50 or dumping their insurance coverage, the bottom line is Obamacare is THE cause of this.
There is no amount of wishful thinking, spin doctoring or praying to the tooth fairy that is going to change any of this.

The US health care system was causing economic disaster. It HAD to be reformed.

A simple solution for that? Tort Reform. However, the Dumbos would never allow that because it effected their friends the Trial Lawyers.

The way you characterize this is just wrong.

If course the system needs reform. But not like this. Not via government sanctions.
The sensible thing to do would have been to outlaw the group policy system where employment was the sole source of insurance.
Before all this HMO/PPO stuff, medical care was relatively inexpensive.
Of course tort limits on medical malpractice cases needs to be severely curtailed.
All mandated coverage needs to be banned.
The private sector needs to take over the whole thing.
There should be cross state boundary competition among insurance carriers. There should be no mandates on coverage. There should be common sense in who and what should be covered.,
For example. A person with a pre-existing condition such as a heart ailment should not be denied outright. If they need insurance, they get coverage for all other maladies and perils. If they choose to have their heart condition covered, their premiums will reflect the additional risk to the carrier. Same way auto or homeowner insurance works.

Average profit margin ( after all expenses including labor ) in industry is 3%

Profit for this restaurant estimated to be 300,000 after everyone is paid.

Subtracting full time employees....this restaurant has 130 employees who need to be insured. The penalty ( in 2015 ) is $2000 per employee.

Additional cost added to labor is $240,000.

They would have to increase the price of a meal by 2.4% ( 60 cents ) to recover the difference and maintain profit margin.

Since every other restaurant in the area would also have to do this in order to maintain staff levels, it would not become a competitive disadvantage.

Think about that.
