It is one thing to raise money for a politician based on what he/she promises to do, or what you think he/she is going to do on a specific issue; or even to raise money for his/her opponent because you don't like what you think the politician will do. It is another thing entirely to use that money to overtly threaten the politician and demand he/she vote a certain way "or else".
