China knows whatever advanced chip or AI the country comes up with is only useful in China. No developed country will use China made chips or AI. If my bank uses Chinese made chips for its servers, I am closing my account. China can sell to other countries but don't expect to fetch a premium selling AI services to Botswana or Cameroon. Let's say China needs to access the Western market because that's where gullible Americans and Europeans have money to spend.

China is using the same playbook back in the days. Nissan replied by saying the company will create an engine using far less rare earth elements. Meanwhile, Trump signed agreements with Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, and Japan for supplying the elements. G7 group is also forming an alliance to produce the elements.
