Liberals: Be Not Offended!

1. The Founders of this nation, one based on individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government, were Classical Liberals, that which would be called conservatives today.
They were leftists. Have you still not read any history?

So....which 'Leftists' base their beliefs on individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government?

That was sooooo easy.

Here is something to consider: "Nothing is more certain than the indispensable necessity of government, and it is equally undeniable, that whenever and however it is instituted, the people must cede to it some of their natural rights in order to vest it with requisite powers."

Hey sugar tits, back in the day any swinging dick could approach you in the work place and tell you he'd use your thighs as a nice pair of ear warmers. Then the bleeding vagina squad came in to tell guys they shouldnt comment on the secretaries huge rack and wonder if her nips look like hershey kisses or saucers.

All because some chick didnt want to be offended. Thats terrible and I agree with the OP. Women need to get over it and realize that we're looking and talking about their ass cheeks. BIG DEAL! RIGHT?

It's a part of free speech. People say all sorts of things at work to upset others. I totally agree what is being said is not nice but i can't find anywhere in the first amendment where it says except when someone says something crast. Seriosly...get over it.

I am beginning to wonder if the hyper sensitivity that seems to exist is really a pretty clever way to silence others. They know that the polite won't risk offending someone even if they themselves don't see it as offensive. Now we have "hate speech" which isn't free speech under the constitution. I got a feeling that hate speech is going to expand to everything that isn't a part of the progressive agenda.

Bring me that hate, bring it all on...

So....which 'Leftists' base their beliefs on individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government?

That was sooooo easy.

The founders didn't do that. The tried limited government under the Articles of Confederation and found it to be a failure.

They replaced the Articles with the Constitution, whose greatest distinction from the AoC is how much more power is delegated to the federal government.

The founders were leftist.

You are not able to learn.

Aren't you getting tired of all the folks laughing at you?

Do you ever get tired of acting like you're 8 years old?

So you're admitting that an 8-year old puts you in your place on a daily basis?

That's actually one of your rare honest posts.

Can you provide two honest posts in a row?

Let's test you....

Which represents the Founders:

a. individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government.

or

b. the collective, command and control regulation of private industry, and overarching government that can order every aspect of the private citizen's life....right down to control of his thoughts and speech.

Pure idiocy, the government is not controlling people's thoughts and forming a collective.

And so a 'reliable Democrat voter' has checked in.....

Let me answer in your style.

This is what the government's relationship with corporations was in the days of the Founders:

Our Hidden History of Corporations in the United States

"When American colonists declared independence from England in 1776, they also freed themselves from control by English corporations that extracted their wealth and dominated trade. After fighting a revolution to end this exploitation, our country’s founders retained a healthy fear of corporate power and wisely limited corporations exclusively to a business role. Corporations were forbidden from attempting to influence elections, public policy, and other realms of civic society.

Initially, the privilege of incorporation was granted selectively to enable activities that benefited the public, such as construction of roads or canals. Enabling shareholders to profit was seen as a means to that end. The states also imposed conditions (some of which remain on the books, though unused) like these*:

  • Corporate charters (licenses to exist) were granted for a limited time and could be revoked promptly for violating laws.
  • Corporations could engage only in activities necessary to fulfill their chartered purpose.
  • Corporations could not own stock in other corporations nor own any property that was not essential to fulfilling their chartered purpose.
  • Corporations were often terminated if they exceeded their authority or caused public harm.
  • Owners and managers were responsible for criminal acts committed on the job.
  • Corporations could not make any political or charitable contributions nor spend money to influence law-making."

...as you can see, the Founders endorsed a much higher level of government control over corporations.
