Just wondering what percentage of board members here write to their Congressional representatives to voice their opinion on issues that they feel is important to themselves? The way you contact their office could be either by telephone, e-mail or a regular old letter sent through the Postal system. Bitching about issues, or showing support for an issue here on the board is one thing but to feel strongly enough about your concern to make any kind of an impact requires a little effort on your part in terms of letting your representatives know your views. So, how many people contact their representatives? Please join the poll.

For all the damn good it does, I have been known to fire off an e-mail to my elected officials expressing my views on the work they are doing and/or expressing where I stand on an issue.

I call mine so often that I have their phone numbers memorized. I even mailed them bricks once. I'm beginning to think that unless you're standing in the street waving a sign threatening their jobs, they simply don't consider us.

I write them and call them so much that I get those unpersonal generated response letters on a daily basis from them. It is fucking irritating that they cant even respond personally.

I actually have pretty decent Representatives, Congressman Dean Heller and Senator John Ensign, both I know, Heller is actually my neighbor which is really cool. My other law maker is Harry Reid and the guy is a schmuck, I am sure after some of the letters I have sent him that his security detail wont let me be withing 1000 feet of the guy Atleast we only have to deal with that Pinko for another year and a half until he gets voted out

I do all of the time. And I think that is what all this anger is about at these town hall meetings. I typically e-mail them--& then get a letter back really that doesn't address the issue I wrote about.

Some are saying to write your senators a letter with a stamp to Washington D.C. for more effect.

Who knows--but I think they're finally getting the idea out of these town hall meetings that Americans are really ticked.

I called my congressmen many times, and only got some secretary who says they will pass my concerns on. I doubt it even left their desk and wound up in file 13.
