Let's Unite The Country Under Trump

After Trump wins the presidency I think it is important to actually unite the country. So, my proposal is to get rid of the Senate filibuster and expand the number of seats on the Supreme Court, two things Democrats have really wanted to do and have not been able to. This is a time where we must reach out to the other side and pass some legislation democrats have wanted and unite the country under a Trump presidency.

We would be better off packing the House than packing the SCOTUS, but go for it. You are not going to get rid of the filibuster permanently though. Both parties see it as a lifeboat for those cycles when they fall back from being in control.

Actually, this is a great idea and it goes a long way to reaching out to the other side other aisle. It's very possible Republicans will take he Senate and the White House. This legislation might actually be possible to pass.

When Trump wins, we all know what will happen. The Democrats in Congress will do everything possible to prevent him from governing at all, let alone implementing his platform. The impeachment resolutions will be ready before he is even sworn in. The lawsuits challenging his rightful immunities will be formally presented, in several jurisdictions. Election results will be challenged at every turn.

The Media will remain on Attack Mode for the duration of his Presidency, as will Academe, Hollywood, and the Deep State.

The Republicans have to "run the table*," and even that won't prevent these things from happening, only slow them down.

Why don't we just bend over and drop dead? Do you actually think kissing their asses would make them like us or play fair? Do you actually think they would ever give you a cold inch? Must be why Biden went on TV denouncing half of America as our greatest threat to national security. I keep seeing republicans shot at, can't think of the last time a democrat was shot, this makes your statement worse than stupid--- it makes it detached from reality. Seems that logic is somewhat like G HW Bush going back on his "Read my lips, no new taxes" pledge after becoming President. It did unite the country somewhat, as Republicans also came to not think of him so highly. Presidents shouldn't go against the policies that got them there.

Which brings to mind the worst case of going against the voters that supported you, LBJ running as the peace candidate in '64 and then almost immediately turning Vietnam into a military campaign from an advisory role.

Can't forget GW Bush during the campaign saying that we should be careful when it came to nation building. It sounded good to me at the time, but mistrust set in immediately when he named Dick Cheney as his running mate. Had no faith at all in his efforts to build Islamic republics.

No more Texican presidents is now my stance.
