Let's Unite The Country Under Trump

The country cannot unite, under Trump or otherwise.

The sides are too far apart; the Left is too evil to concede.

When Trump wins, we all know what will happen. The Democrats in Congress will do everything possible to prevent him from governing at all, let alone implementing his platform. The impeachment resolutions will be ready before he is even sworn in. The lawsuits challenging his rightful immunities will be formally presented, in several jurisdictions. Election results will be challenged at every turn.

The Media will remain on Attack Mode for the duration of his Presidency, as will Academe, Hollywood, and the Deep State.

The Republicans have to "run the table*," and even that won't prevent these things from happening, only slow them down.

We would be better off packing the House than packing the SCOTUS, but go for it. You are not going to get rid of the filibuster permanently though. Both parties see it as a lifeboat for those cycles when they fall back from being in control.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, but if you get rid of the filibuster you could theoretically use it to change federal laws in your favor, including election laws, so that the other side will never win an election again. So, you wouldn't have to worry about the other side gaining power again.

When Harris wins and the Dems take over the Senate, the filibuster will be history.

I doubt the Dems will pack the Supreme Court. They'll probably set retroactive term limits, strict ethical rules with consequences, and some method that allows SCOTUS decisions to be overturned.

I'd think that a super majority of senior Federal Judges should be able to overturn a SCOTUS decision.
