Let's review the results, to date, of the August summit between Trump and Putin

They have 70 million plus male potential soldiers. Through the first year plus, the Russians were concerned with the depletion of their arms. They have gone into a war economy where they have increased arms prduction. They have leading edge arms production capability. The war has resulted in Russia being more prepared for war, now, than they were before the war.

You take a nation with a military and you kill large numbers of men and destroy large amounts of equipment and you are weakening that nation.

Russia might have a large number of people. The median age is over 40. That is not a nation that wants to lose a lot of young men. They are already dying and losing those young men is just killing them faster.

This war is bleeding russia white. Every day that it continues, Russia is more fucked.

Putin is being a fool, in passing up a chance to cut his losses.

Thus Trump has plenty of leverage. Every day Russia is dying by inches.

They're both failures and very much alike.
Trump has Putins back against the wall. He cant win and his economy is in decline. More sanctions will bring Putin down. Replacing his oil and LNG sales with American energy will also bring him down. Trump still has the leverage. Get real Biden didnt have a functioning brain

Looks like Trump may finally have figured out that Putin was playing him.

Zelensky and Europe have to act quickly before Trump changes his mind again.

And do what exactly, that they were not already doing?

Why do you believe our government should get involved in a war thousands of miles from our homeland and that has no effect on Americans?

Do you want WWIII?
Trump put himself in the middle of that war.

America has been ******* around in eastern europe since the end of the cold war.

THe Biden Policy of supporting Ukraine, made put AMERICA in the "middle of that war".

The Biden policy? The US has supported Ukraine ever since the mid 90's following the Budapest Memorandum when Ukraine agreed to give up its nukes. These days our level of support seems to change weekly given the orange piece of shit's fickle nature.

In a Sudden Shift, Trump Says Ukraine Can Win the War With Russia

President Trump reversed himself on one of the key foreign policy issues of his presidency on Tuesday, abandoning his insistence that Ukraine give up land to strike a peace deal with Russia and instead declaring that Ukraine, with the support of Europe, was “in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form.”

His turnabout on social media shortly after a meeting in New York with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine was a head-spinning pivot. After his three-hour meeting with Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin, in Alaska more than five weeks ago, he insisted that Mr. Zelensky would have to face reality and make a deal, giving up territory to its larger and stronger neighbor.

Mr. Trump provided no rationale for his stunning turnaround, though several European officials suspected that by distancing himself from the war, the president was washing his hands of a conflict that he once promised to solve in days or weeks. In his eight months in office, Mr. Trump has ricocheted from one position to another on Ukraine.

Please post something factual.

Sanctions have done nothing to impede Russia’s war effort or economy. They have however proven to the world that the US government is a criminal enterprise and entirely untrustworthy.

All Trump needs do is tell Ukraine to dump the piano dick player, stop all arms shipments, and accept whatever peace agreement Russia will accept. War over.

Why do you want more dead Ukrainians and more wealth stolen from poor Americans, to be given to billionaires and bankers?

Yes. Just like Big Ears and Genocide Joe.
Which is it? Biden and Obama didn't do enough in reaction to Putin's invasions of Ukraine and Crimea or they did too much? Or perhaps you'd be critical of them no matter what they did.

AI Overview

Western sanctions have inflicted significant, long-term damage on Russia's economy, forcing a costly restructuring towards a war economy that benefits only military-related sectors. While Russia's economy demonstrated surprising resilience in the initial years after the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, its growth has slowed considerably by 2025 as the costs of war and sanctions fully materialize.

How Sanctions Have Reshaped Russia’s Future

Anniversaries, even those as somber as today’s, offer a crucial opportunity for reflection. As we mark the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it is essential to assess how this war—and the sweeping sanctions imposed in response—have fundamentally reshaped the geopolitical and economic landscape.

Over the past three years, sanctions imposed by the United States and a coalition of like-minded allies (hereafter, the Coalition) have inflicted significant economic damage on Russia, driven the emergence of complex illicit trade networks that challenge enforcement efforts, and compelled Moscow to restructure its economy around military production.

It is vital to recognize the profound impact of these sanctions—not only as evidence of their effectiveness but also as a stark reminder that the Russian economy of three years ago no longer exists. Any rapprochement with Russia that eases sanctions without addressing its new war-driven economic model would risk profound destabilization. While economic measures alone may not be enough to secure a just and lasting peace, such a peace cannot be achieved without them.

You can tell Putin is desperate as he acts out by sending jest over NATO airspace and violates NATO Boundaries. This is an old USSR tactic. They would bump our ships, send bombers near Alaska and try and create the image they are aggressive. This means his back it to the wall. He cant win his economy is weak and in decline.

You totally misunderstand.

All three criminals pushed policies that lead to war, and the enrichment of the war machine donors. All while further impoverishing poor Americans. War is a scam. It’s designed to enrich the rich at the expense of the poor.

Stop believing statist propaganda.

So dumb. Why is it dumb people when confronted with conflicting evidence always resort to insults?

Can’t fix stupid.

Well, I wish you had just stated up front that you're a misinformed, paranoid, conspiracist so I knew what I was dealing with.

Did Obama's response to the invasion of Crimea, largely supplying non military, non lethal aid feed the war machine?

Why no reply on your factual error regarding sanctions on Russia?

You are uninformed.

O caused the Crimea to join Russia, with his coup of 2014. You do believe in democracy don’t you? They voted to RETURN to Russia, which they’d been part of since Catherine the Great (ever heard of her?)

Only dumb people support war, and billionaires and bankers getting filthy rich off war.

Stop supporting war! You’re not a billionaire, but you might be dumb.

How about you do this. Give me some factual evidence to support anything you've asserted as I did in blowing up your claim about the efficacy of sanctions on Russia. Then we can talk.
