Oh, I would love it if Christians were to unite and force the issue of moral character. What we are faced with, however, is a choice:

1. Vote for the lesser of two evils.
2. Vote for the candidate of the highest moral character, knowing it won't make a difference.
3. Refuse to vote at all because you don't want to be accused of enabling even the lesser evil. That was the choice of many in the community I grew up in.

Homosexuality doesn't bar you from being an effective politician.

No, I would prefer the Church and state separate. Let the state create a civil union to give homosexuals whatever benefits now accrue to married couples and let the Church have their own marriage that they recognize. That way no one is forced to recognize the other. Problem solved. That's always been my stance.

I know Obama is a political animal and conviction doesn't play a role in his life, so it's no wonder he was agin it before he was for it. Heck, you see the same with Bubba Clinton who fought to fly the Confederate flag before he figured out that was double plus ungood.
