U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) - QbThe Dems already branded the spike as “PUTINS PRICE SPIKE”.
NOT THE “BIDEN PRICE SPIKE”.
Also, Biden is comparing his 1st year to Trump’s first year…saying he pumped the same amount as Trump pumped his first year!
We need to compare 2019 to 2021. Those are the fair comparisons….not 2017 to 2021.
You can see in that link that during Trump's term, US monthly oil production peaked in December 2019 at 400,219,000 barrels.
That was just before the Covid pandemic.
The decline in production continued for over a year. It dropped for the rest of Trump's term and into the first month of Biden's term where it bottomed out at 273,646,000 barrels in February 2021.
Upon taking office, Biden increased leases for drilling to the highest level since Dubya. Higher than Obama or Trump.
Since then, US monthly oil production has increased to 358,588,000 barrels for last December, which is the latest figure available.
That is a 31 percent increase in production from the low. It is also higher than at the same point in Trump's presidency. At this point in Trump's presidency, oil production was 324,296,000 barrels.
So take off those blinders, willfully blind monkeys.
