You moved the goalposts. I am suggesting there is no room in America for gun regulation because these very easy no brainers can’t be passed. Anything more restrictive that will make a difference is not remotely feasible.

None of these would significantly prevent gun deaths.

1. "Assault weapon" is a meaningless distinction. There are non-"assault" weapons every bit as deadly as the "assault" ones.
2. A 10 round magazine just means you have to pop a new one in every 10th victim,
3. Most shooters either pass the background checks, use a family member's gun, or just get a gun off the streets.

OTOH, they would punish law abiding people for the acts of a few, which is why they won't be enacted.

Freedom is not free and many people have to unfortunately die to protect it, but it still doesn't justify killing people for their political beliefs. The problem in this argument is that too many are trying to take our freedom away from us by killing people.
