Dunno about that....I've had a number of disagreements with a number of righties on the board and in IRL, and not a one of them has ever accused me of arguing in bad faith or being a generally bad person.....In nearly every (not all) difference of opinion I've had with lefties, there eventually comes a point in time where I'll get called a racistbigotmisogynistfascisNazinomophobeclimatedenier, who wants people to die in the streets, shoot first and ask questions later, starve children, put old people on ice floes, and let corporate raiders run amok.

As long as we can separate the trolls and just downright idiots on this board and elsewhere on both sides... generally speaking, the left has become more intolerant of different ideas than the right for sure. It isn't even close.
And is played out daily not just in America, but in Britain/Canada as well.
The far left has become cocooned in their own alternate reality.

I read much of his book

ON the one hand, he is talking very intelligently about problems that are real, that are going to be coming. These folks just are not aware of, he is speaking on the problems in an intelligent manner.

On the other hand? Some of his policy prescriptions have been pre-conditioned into him by this technological society that we are living in. Anyone that owns a cell phone and has passively submitted to the NDAA and the Patriot Act, who has lived under Social Security their whole lives, and whose mother and father did not grow up here, can not possibly know what it means to have individual sovereignty from the government.

Like. . privacy? What is that? A sort of, if you aren't doing anything wrong, what do you have to hide. The government should know everything about you sort of attitude.

He has a real notion that rights come from the government, instead of the absolute certainty that they are natural, and everyone is born to them. They are not privileges.


If your family has always had the culture of individuality is more important than the state, then he would understand how some of the stuff he is proposing is just plane offensive. As it is, he comes off as just totally naive why he is totally inappropriate. I'll bet he doesn't draw much of a crowd when he isn't handing out money.

It would work in the east, but it isn't really American.

I would love for this forum to be privately owned and independently moderated like it once was. So much better that way.
