Many of us have expressed degrees of disenchantment with the current, truly toxic "right"-"left" designations one is force to bear. There are other ways to think that are, also, not some milk-toast middle ground pabulum. To illustrate, here is an example. Beware! The title photo is of an intellectual looking white guy (who also happens to be homosexual) and a young black guy. Don't take that to mean much.

What other voices do people such as are above described feel speak for us? Or, what serious refutations of the points in the linked podcast do people have?

there is no left or right when discussing dems and repubes,, they are both left wing authoritarians,,,

Is that agreeing with the proposition promoting "other ways of thinking" and identifying the binary nature of current U.S. political debate as being unproductive? Do you have examples of spokespersons?

the whole premise is false,,
dems and repubes are not right and left and no one is in the middle of them

not to mention the racist and divisive nature it promotes,,,

what we need to do is realize we are all in this together and promoting division is whats causing the problem,,

One axis is left/right. Another axis is authoritarian/libertarian.

People get so caught up in labels that they use liberal, left and Democrat interchangeably ,but the truth of the matter is that the left has become so utterly authoritarian as to represent the near antithesis of actual liberalism.

The 'cast agrees to what you say is causing the problem.

It wasn't discussing American parties, it was discussing how every subject gets broken down into binary categories.

These two speakers were not easy on either the left or right. Are there other speakers who express themselves outside these dominating ones?

You are repeating yourself, and that isn't the subject. The fact is, American discourse is broken into the two sides. Whether or not you believe they exist, that is the nature of the dialog. It is the wording that is being used. Personally, I don't promote a "side".

maybe in your world they are,, but in reality its much more complex than that,,

as I said the dems and repubes are the same thing with just a few minor caveats,,, one being speed of the degradation of individual freedom,,,

dems want it to happen all at once and repubes like the slow boil so we dont realize we are in a pot of boiling water,,,

you want to have a real conversation about this country you should talk about that,, thats the real binary reality,,

What the thread wants to talk about is those who speak for other than the "right" or "left".

Nope. Black and white are values, not colors.

Thanks for our contribution.
