I didn't realize Rob Reiner directed the movie. That is a problem. Not exactly a director known for accuracy and history films.
The movie should have been entitled "LBJ's homage to Kennedy". Because that is 100% what the movie was about. It was more about Kennedy and his legacy, than LBJ. Reiner clearly is very fond of JFK.
The movie presents the myth that LBJ only worked on civil rights because he thought JFK was such a great man. Simply not true. And completely left out of the movie is LBJ pushed civil rights and landmark legislation to further protect minorities than JFK did. He did it because he wholly believed the "old ways" needed to end.
The movie presents LBJ as begrudgingly going along. Not true. He was for the swift passage before and after RFK was murdered..

Anyway - the movie is a fluff piece glorifying RFK much more than LBJ.
Reiner clearly has a bromance with Kennedy.

I give it 2 out of 5 stars.

Lyndon Johnson opposed every civil rights proposal considered in his first 20 years as lawmaker
"During his first 20 years in Congress," Obama said, "he opposed every civil rights bill that came up for a vote, once calling the push for federal legislation a farce and a shame."

On one level, it’s not surprising that anyone elected in Johnson’s era from a former member-state of the Confederate States of America resisted civil-rights proposals into and past the 1950s.
It wasnt about civil rights for blacks, it was all about getting blacks, to vote Democrats. Give them free shit for the rest of their lives, you have have those N*********s voting Democrat for 100 years.

LBJ was America's worst ever traitor.... until W.

Yeah?
And both Biden and Obama were dead set against gay marriage. Biden made a special appearance on Meet the Press - specifically and categorically to say it will never happen.
LBJ was a politician. With all of the faults of one. But his passing of so many landmark policies - that he did not have to - shows how he actually felt.
When he was a Senator, he was a Senator from the south at a time when America was still very much divided geographically. If he would have voted for civil rights as a Senator - his career would have ended immediately.

Not even close, Woodrow Wilson, there is no other as bad.

Your first clue to this fact is that Washington DC is litered with glorifying Presidents who were President during a major conflit....................EXCEPT.........................President Wilson. Yea, there is no monument glorifying President Wilson. Even democrats with TDS realize this fact.

He truly is and was that bad.

Assuming that is all true, Wilson has a much, much darker history

1. The man had KKK rallies in the Oval Office, and said the most hateful and racist things any US President has ever said, and pretty much every day of his life

2. Under his watch, he helped create the Fed which not control pretty much everything and with zero oversight.

3. He oversaw the creation of the federal income tax, a tax that SCOTUS declared unconstitutional a decade prior. No problem, they will just add it.

4. Lied about getting into WW1. Wilson galvanized the nation when the ship Lusitania was sunk by a German U boat saying that it was not a military target. Well, divers went down in the 1980's and it was full of munitions.

5. He transformed the US military into a world conquering military, along with FDR later on. Since then, the US has been in military mode around the world nonstop.

6. He helped create the terms of surrender for Germany, which laid the groundwork for Hitler with the Versailles agreement. Just awful.

7. He oversaw the transformation of the US Senate by creating an amendment allowing Senators to be directly voted on by voters instead of the states appointing them, thus further eroding the power of the states.

8. He despised the US Constitution openly, even though he swore to defend it.

9. He pulled a Biden. He has a massive stroke at the end of his term and pretended that it was nothing as his wife assumed all his obligations. She became his autopen. The media and the administration hid this from the American people and even tried for another term.

Yea, he was a real piece of poo.

The problem is, that the Left and their state controlled media can't admit to this because he was a democrat, so they do the next best thing, which is to ignore him completely, much like the do Jesse Smollett.

Just a typical swamp creature. Anything to stay in power. Thanks to LBJ he was the guy who made the Projects.

I beg to differ. Every day blacks drive across the largest monument every made. They even have a plaque with his picture on the drawbridge control building.
