I myself have put God on trial before. I doubt that there is even one person who has never put God on trial before. Much of the OT is about how God created an unfair world and demand he fix it. But that 12 year old kid would never know that. But to answer your question, yes, putting God on trial daily would be worse than never putting God on trial ever. Because it might be that the people who never put God on trial are enlightened. Which I doubt that 12 year old kid would ever be able to understand. Besides, he's probably too busy blaming God for everything to stop and take the time to be objective about God.

I've listened to his arguments, he blames God for everything. And if he thinks objectivity is limited to certain subjects, he's even dumber than I thought. I couldn't be happier for him. I have NEVER tried to convince him. I have only been defending my beliefs from his attacks and his implied belief that he is superior to people of faith. I'm happy he has no peace. I'm happy the best he can do is suffer without complaint through the storms of life. I'm happy he doesn't get any of this. Why would I want someone who thought he was better than me to benefit from what I know? The best part of all of this is that by defending my faith I have satisfied my obligation such that when he hits rock bottom, he won't be able to say he wasn't told.
