Four Skinheads Charged with Hate Crime in Los Angeles

Police charged four suspected members of the racist Berdoo Skinheads with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing an African-American man at a Claremont shopping center in California. It is believed that the men were passing through the area while traveling to a neo-Nazi rally at the Federal Building in Westwood when the incident occurred.

Back in the mid-1970s a group of four Black males were arrested after terrorizing and assaulting White passengers on New York City's IRT subway system for several weeks. Shortly after the arrest three Black NYC Transit Police officers were suspended and charged with beating the arrestees in a holding cell at their precinct station. One of the young men suffered a ruptured spleen from the beating and testified that the Black police sergeant who carried out the beatings told them it was because their attacks on Whites "caused problems for all Black people."

The police claimed the young men were injured while resisting arrest. There was a trial and a jury found the police not guilty.



Another rather famous incident in the NYC subway system back in the seventies involved a timid fellow named Bernhard Goetz. After being robbed by young Blacks in the subway on two occasions, which he reported to police, Goetz applied for a handgun carry permit but was denied.

Refusing to ride the subway at night (which his occupation required him to do) without a means of defending himself, Goetz purchased an illegal .38 revolver and paid for training in its use at a commercial range in Vermont. Several months after arming himself he was approached by five young Black males on an IRT subway train who began to oppress him and demanded money from him. Having been beaten and robbed twice before Goetz knew it was about to happen again, so he drew his weapon and shot three of the men point blank.

One fell face-down on the floor, two sat down in pain and two ran away. Goetz calmly waited until the train stopped and the doors opened. On his way out the door he fired another shot into the back of the man his first shot had dropped to the floor. Then he disappeared.

The incident became a news sensation (Google "Bernie Goetz" for details). Goetz became an overnight folk hero to New Yorkers who had grown tired of being intimidated by young Black marauders in the subways. As reported by The New York Daily News, the incident produced a significant reduction in subway crime.

The search was on for the "Subway Shooter" whom the public loudly hoped would never be found and whom the police were not anxious to find. Letters appeared every day in The Voice of The People column of the Daily News praising his action and saluting him. So encouraging was the strong and increasing public support for what he'd done Goetz decided to turn himself in.

In the opinion of all concerned, were it not for the serious mistake of firing that fourth shot into the back of the already wounded mugger (all three of the wounded men had records for assault and robbery) Goetz would have walked away a free man. But that mistake cost him a year on Rikers Island and a lawsuit by the mugger he needlessly shot in the back and paralyzed for life.

The bottom line is the only solution to the problem of marauding street criminals is armed citizens. Kill or cripple a few of these vicious punks and that behavior will soon stop.
