Lapsis... one whacky movie concept... that sort of worked.

If someone told you the premise of this movie, you would certainly think this thing has to be completely stupid.
A movie about people running around in the woods running cables between these inexplicable boxes that are not explained to you?
Must be stupid.

But it is actually entertaining. Mostly do to the main character who is so much like James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) that if you close your eyes you would swear it is his reincarnation. There are several interesting characters in this film. All well acted. As absolutely nutty as the subject of the movie is... it works.

Isn't there a whole bunch of movies were people wake up in unusual circumstances like in a maze or something?

Part of what drives the movie is the mystery of why this is happening.

But yeah, if you add a few good characters to such a scenario, it can be entertaining.
