Labyrinth

You remind me of a babe,
A babe with the power.

What power?

The power of Voodoo.

Who do?

You do.

Do what?

Remind me of a babe.

I also liked when she met the inchworm? caterpillar? in the wall at the beginning of the movie. Overall, not a bad flick.

I like the movie. I don't like Bowies songs though.
But yeah, I loved the Henson company productions when Jim was still alive.

His son runs the company now, and he's just gone all "woke" with it. Don't care for anything after Jim died.

Thanks for that. I always watch something creepy before I go to bed, so I can wake up in a cold sweat from my nightmare.

I guess it's sort of creepy, but it's cute more than creepy,.. at least to me, but to each their own.

I love that song!!! 😍 Even though those lyrics don't make a bit of sense lol :icon_sjung:

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of David Bowie, and I don't know much about the Jim Henson company now, but Muppet Christmas Carol was after Jim died and I thought that was really good. Anyways, I also loved this song in the movie, and who doesn't love Sir Didymus right? :D

Btw, I brought this up because I just watched this movie last night and I love it even though it was out a few years before I was born.

You just gotta go and make a dude feel old, don't ya? This was one of the first movies I went to as a newlywed with my ex wife.

I really enjoyed the hell out of the movie, and still do. My ex? Not so much.

You know, up until a few months ago, I'd always thought that David Bowie had come up with that "you remind me of a babe" bit, but found out a couple of months ago that he kinda cribbed it from a movie "The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer" that was made back in the 40's.

My future mother in law was watching that movie when I was walking through the living room, and I heard it done as "you remind me of a man" bit. I did a quick double take because I'd remembered that bit from the Labryinth movie, and wondered what it was doing in a black and white film.

You can see the bit at around the 1:50 point in the clip.

Amazing, but what does that even mean and what is that movie even about?

Shoot................in 1990, I had finished my second tour in the Navy, and was starting on my third (sea duty with VFA-131 Wildcats).

Dunno what the "you remind me of a" thing is about, I think it's just something some writer back in the 40's came up with as a schtick for an actor, and David Bowie adopted it for the movie. Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer? Dunno what the movie is about, but what little I saw of it, looked like it was a comedy of some sort. On occasion I will watch old movies, and this one is kinda on my list to check out when I get around to it.
