LA millionaires shell out for $2,000-an-hour private firefighters as overwhelmed city abandons neighborhoods to the flames

Desperate one-percenters are dropping small fortunes on private professional fire crews to protect their mansions as California’s most expensive wildfires continue to devour some of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

Private fire protection companies often contract with state and local governments to help battle wildfires, but in recent years, California’s fire firms have begun offering “on call” services, ready to show up with their own water supplies, trucks, hoses, fire-quenching chemicals, and other industrial-grade equipment.

But these heroes-for-hire come with a hefty price tag, with some outfits charging $2,000 an hour for their services, the Daily Mail reported.

Chris Dunn, owner of Covered 6, told that outlet his phone has been “ringing off the hook” as the Hollywood elite jockey for his bespoke services.

This is why you have the rich in CA still supporting dem politicians.

They insulate themselves (literally with cash) from the pitfalls of the dem's (they help elect) odious policies.

Of course, it's up to them how they chose to spend their money but if you are looking for a reason the incompetent dems get elected over and over in CA, right there is one of them.
So they pay high taxes for a state to provide many things, which includes a fire service, and they're having to sub contract in a fire service for upto $2,000 per hour 🤔

And they keep keeping voting for the same lot to deliver that 🤔

Want good firefighters then pay a bunch more. Wages are directly tied to effort. The american way.

The cost is worth it. I am sure all were hired for their ability to perform the job instead of just checking boxes.

The OP makes a valid point. The ultra rich can also insulate themselves from crime. Gated communities with private, armed security 24/7. Those people see no pressing need to stop drug addicts from breaking into THEIR homes... so that crime is of little concern. Those people have their personal chefs venture out into the concrete jungle to shop while they relax by the pool. Those people have no concern for street crime, high food prices, high gas prices , or even the high taxes that the little people pay. Yet they all can pat themselves on the back for being such kind and loving liberals at their wine and cheese parties. A private account with a competent private fire fighting company ?? But of course.....City firefighters are just for the little people... and DEI is just one way they can "virtue signal". And then they wonder why anyone could not happily vote for the Democrats.

Of course. Women are physically equal to 12 year old boys and blacks are mentally equal to 12 year old white kids. These companies don't us DEI hiring like our govt does.
The difference is a company can DEI till they decide not to (bottom line affected or it's not in vogue anymore) and then get shed of both DEI policies/dead weight.

When a .gov does it we are stuck with the dead weight for damn near forever and the repercussions are what we are seeing in LA and all across the land when the unqualified DEI hires and put into leadership positions.

When you think about it, what are they saving? A house in the middle of a burned out war zone. It'll be a very, very long time, if ever, for that neighborhood to return to the paradise it once was.
/—-/ 710 WOR radio reported the LA homes that survived tripled in price overnight. That’s why.
