Desperate one-percenters are dropping small fortunes on private professional fire crews to protect their mansions as California’s most expensive wildfires continue to devour some of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

Private fire protection companies often contract with state and local governments to help battle wildfires, but in recent years, California’s fire firms have begun offering “on call” services, ready to show up with their own water supplies, trucks, hoses, fire-quenching chemicals, and other industrial-grade equipment.

But these heroes-for-hire come with a hefty price tag, with some outfits charging $2,000 an hour for their services, the Daily Mail reported.

Chris Dunn, owner of Covered 6, told that outlet his phone has been “ringing off the hook” as the Hollywood elite jockey for his bespoke services.

This is why you have the rich in CA still supporting dem politicians.

They insulate themselves (literally with cash) from the pitfalls of the dem's (they help elect) odious policies.

Of course, it's up to them how they chose to spend their money but if you are looking for a reason the incompetent dems get elected over and over in CA, right there is one of them.

When you think about it, what are they saving? A house in the middle of a burned out war zone. It'll be a very, very long time, if ever, for that neighborhood to return to the paradise it once was.

Yeah, but look at the price they can demand when the state tries taking it by eminent domain to build their "15-minute walk" city.

Partisan hack much?

The rich insulate themselves from all of their society's pitfalls all over the world since the beginning of civilization.

Especially from being responsible for their own horrible leadership decisions.

That's why the Roman empire collapsed, that's why the British Empire collapsed.

Apparently, the U.S.A. is the next on that list.

No news here.

The wealthy hired private firefighters TO FIGHT FIRES. there is no one competent doing the job.

Big problem with this is these companies will turn arsonist and start fires to drum up business. This is the opposite of insurance. Insurance companies don't want fires; these companies do.

I have a hunch those people will be buying the land around their house on the cheap. Sit on it until it grows again and either expand into it or sell it for hefty profit.
