Some YPG politician believes Raqqa would vote to join a Kurdish made federal autonomy.

“We expect (this) because our project is for all of Syria … and Raqqa can be part of it,” Muslim said in a telephone interview. “Our only concern is that the people of Raqqa are the ones who take the decision on everything.”

I am not so sure. Raqqa is actually a pro-government city. Anyway. Without Bashar, this region will be subjected to decline. A look at the Kurdish "state" in Iraq shows it is nonviable and maintained by the Turkish government. But the Kurds are talking about a federation. It means they want free stuff from Damascus but no orders.

The government´s position on Kurdish federation is clear: A nation-wide referendum. The government believes, even in the northeast, only a minority wants that Kurdish "statelet".
