People go to church to see people kneel, not a football stadium.

And people like to watch the football games to get away from the social issues. If they wanted to see a discussion police brutality, or what should be done they'd tune into CNN or MSNBC or Fox. Certainly not the NFL.

That being said, if the NFL wants to make all of their players and staff kneel, that's their prerogative. The NFL commish should get on TV and tell those who object that they don't have to watch, there are plenty of other quality things on the tube like pro wrestling, roller derby, reruns of Hogan's Heroes, etc.

There is nothing "constitutionally protected" about the players kneeling or being forbidden by the league from kneeling at all. Its a private business that can do what they please. If someone on the team doesn't want to kneel, and the Team Owner says for them kneel, its a "tough shit" moment. They don't have to kneel but if they do the are likely to be fired. If other players want to protest against the flag and against veterans in other ways, the league can again ban them it if they want. If Biden were elected and Tom Brady- ex given- wanted to defecate on a picture of the president during the national anthem, the owners wouldn't have to let him.

The President doesn't have the authority to mandate NFL players to kneel, to stand or to engage in any other protest. And he didn't, he merely issued his opinion that he wouldn't allow it if he was in charge.
