"87-Year-Old Suspected Serial Killer Who Was Paroled Twice Convicted of Murdering, Dismembering 3rd Victim with Saw
Harvey Marcelin was found guilty of murdering Susan Leyden, whose severed head was found in Marcelin’s apartment in 2022, the district attorney said
Harvey Marcelin, 87, was convicted of murdering Susan Leyden, 68, in Brooklyn in 2022
Marcelin dismembered Leyden's body and left her torso in a shopping car near her apartment. Leyden's head was found inside Marcelin's apartment
Marcelin served more than 50 years in prison for killing two previous girlfriends starting in 1963
An octogenarian suspected serial killer and ex-convict who was out on parole was found guilty of killing a Brooklyn woman and dismembering her body, authorities said.
On Thursday, May 7, Harvey Marcelin, 87, was convicted of first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and concealment of a human corpse for the 2022 murder of Susan Leyden, 68, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced in a statement.
Leyden was last seen entering Marcelin's apartment on Pennsylvania Ave. in East New York on Feb. 27, 2022, the district attorney said.
Days later, her torso was found wrapped in a black plastic bag in a shopping cart near Marcelin’s apartment. Her head was found inside Marcelin’s apartment."
This is a textbook example of the utter failure of the progressive criminal justice system. If this murderer had been executed or kept in prison, two of his victims would not have been murdered by him after his parole.
