Carl, you are happy with some drunk driver plowing into a group of people? If you feel "threatened" you should just be able to mash the gas pedal?
Come on man.
Depending on the state, yea.
Feeling theatened is feeling threatened. If you're in your car, gas it. **** it.
Use her best judgment. Whether the laws in court will determine she did nor did not use good judgment will be up to the jury. I will trust the jury, and recommend you do the same. You and I simply cannot ascertain the facts by a news article or single clip. If you are forced to drive through a mob, actually attempting to surround your car in a threatening manner, you too, or me, or my wife, daughter, granddaughter, may have to answer charges in court. Think of it like a supposed self-defense shooting. More times than not, you may face charges. On the other hand it is better to be subject to trial before a jury of 12 than carried by a pall bearers of 6.From the article:
Officers were dispatched to a large disorder in the area of Short Street and North Broadway. They said another disorder broke out around a vehicle attempting to leave a parking lot in the area
"Attempting" tells us she was being prevented from leaving.
What would you tell YOUR wife/ daughter to do in this situation?
The OTHER crime is the way the media described the "event" -- a "disorder"![]()
