Not true. Republicans held the Congress in the first 2 years of Trump's Administration and the Republican Congress refused to fund Trump's wall.

In December of 2019, after Republicans lost the House in the 2018 midterms but before the Democrats took over, Republicans passed a debt ceiling bill, with no funding for a border wall, and Trump refused to sign the Bill and shut down the government.

EVERY port of entry is the United States is an "open border". Every international airport, and marine shipping port is an "open border". Even when the Southern Border was closed, every other port of entry in the country is open so you still have "open borders".

If you are allowing tourists and business people to come into the country, your borders are open. You don't vet those people, do any background checks or any of the stuff you require of immigrants, but once they're in the country you have no way of verifying whether or not they've left when their visas are up. 60% of all illegal immigrats are people who arrived with tourist or student visas and never went home.

Fentanyal isn't being smuggled across the Southern Border by illegal immigrants running the border. It's being smuggled into the USA, by American citizens returning from Mexico.
