I actually watched the trial. It was also explained that if you had checked in to vote and wanted to go elsewhere you were allowed to check out without voting which free’d you up to go to an alternate site.

This new system of theirs that allows registered voters to vote any where in the county's hundreds of voting places, not just voting in your your own precinct, requires printing your personal ballot relating to your locality, after you check in....and with the individual printing of ballots is where the problem rose with the darkness of ink, and not scanning.
