Most Americans say it's unacceptable to be happy about public figures' deaths, but younger and more liberal Americans are more likely to call it acceptable. Contrast that with 85% of young conservatives saying it's unacceptable. This isn't surprising to me seeing the number of Gen Z aged leftists celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk on social media, but it's a serious problem that needs to be addressed. How has this group in particular become so desensitized to the idea that it's okay to murder people with differing viewpoints?

They can consider it acceptable because for the past decade or so leftist violence has been met with no resistance when people on the left are in power. They get at most a slap on the wrist, and sometimes they even get paid off by the local governments after filing a lawsuit said local governments never really fight back against.

They stop right leaning events with little consequence, attacked federal facilities with little consequence, riot with little consequence, block traffic with little consequence. Why would they think killing someone they disagree with politically would be any different?
