I get it actually that he he was able to do this. My mom died a very protracted death. By the time it was over, it was almost like a relief. I relief she was out of pain, a relief not having your life dictated by things out of your control, a relief not to be at the hospital every day. It took about a week to 10 days for it to "hit" me as the saying goes.
