July 2. 1863 The Defence of Little Round Top at Gettysburg

You're on the board of directors?
After Appomattox, Americans became color blind? There were an estimated 6,500 Emmett Till like murders and that`s what sent Black people north. Northern employers wouldn`t hire them but northerners didn`t routinely murder them and that`s what created the public housing mess. What choices did Black people have? A good MAGA would suggest the ovens.

Um...wrong thread?

3 volumes of other sources at the bottom f the page as well.

Gettysburg was lost the first day, when Lee was too cautious and didn't commit in force early on. The entire strategic and grand tactical situation would have been entirely different if he had committed early on; one of the few time Lee wasn't at his best re making decisions. Lees wins every time when the timetable is speeded up; no Little Round Top and no Culp's Hill; Confederates control both. Even Jeb Stuart was late.

Lots of 'what if's', but the timid response on the first day is the main reason by far. He should have just continued on his way to Philadelphia and New Jersey and raided the railroads.

What if the Union had counterattacked, captured, and blown Lee's brains out as the traitor he was!

If you like alternative history read Wayne Moore’s “Bring the Jubilee.” An alternative history of the confederacy if the Confederacy held Little Round Top.

If the Confederacy had taken Little Round Top the Union would have been forced to withdraw from their position.
It wouldn’t have won the war.

It is my belief the objective was to turn votes to those pushing for a truce to let the south succeed. Public opinion could be swayed by taking the horrors of war to the front door of northern voters.

What if you weren't a mentally ill deviant and actually educated? Lincoln's war was illegal; secession wasn't., just a fact.

Yes. The ridge line split the Union army, and Lee would have controlled two major roads and picked them apart.

Had they done it right, they would have wiped out your traitor ancestors, and you would never have been born!

Dumb troll. You're voting for traitors.

And, My ancestors back then were from Tennessee and joined the first Union cavalry regiment formed in that state. You're just programmed moron, is all.

The plan was to raid as far north as possible, hoping to do just that. Gettysburg was actually a distraction, wasn't meant to become a major battle.

I asked you about your title and role.

Or the entire "Timeline 191" series of books by Harry Turtledove, where the confederates won Antietam, then the war, then WWI and WWII happened with the North and South at odds. (The North allied with Germany, the South with England and France).
