Other than scrapping due process and rights of the accused what would you do to change this.

In truth people mainly call them liars when they make accusations such as the ones we see now. When there are huge descrepencies and no evidence and it is more political than about justice.

In court anyone accused of anything MUST have the right to face the accuser and to attack their claims and their credibility.

Without that right we lose everything and are subject to the whims of the state or of others.

In court however the practice of smearing rape victims as sluts has long since ended.

A defense such as boys will be boys is also no longer a defense and has not been for a long time.

I really find it hard to believe that a whole lot of girls could have this happen to them and not a single one reported it to anyone? The other allegations, yes, I can understand keeping your mouth shut, but not this.

These are children of people who had standing and some power. I know that kavanaugh's mother was a lawyer then a judge.

No young girl is going to accuse the son of a lawyer then judge of something like this. Girls know what happens when they speak up.

Keep in mind this was the early 80s. It was even harder back then.

Girls keep this quiet for many reasons.

I do believe that it's possible for this happened. I do believe that if it did, they didn't tell anyone.

I saw it happen to a friend once. We got her out of the room she was in as soon as we found out about what was happening. As far as I know, no one told anyone's parents or any adults. I know I never did.

However, the boys who did that didn't escape consequences from his peers and the rest of us. They were no longer welcome around us or to our parties. They were shunned and no one wanted anything to do with them.

I have no problem believing any of this is probably true. I grew up going to school with the mayor's kids, the governor's kids and kids of other politicians and business people. Most were raised well but not all of them and they had the same attitudes about girls and people that I'm seeing be exposed in kavanaugh.

No matter if this happened or not, this man has lied to congress many times. Has obtained and used stolen documents then lied about it. He participated in justifying torturing human beings and lied about it. All to congress. Which is a crime.

A man who spent his childhood doing the things he's been accused of is very easily the same man who will accept stolen documents then use them against his opponents, will justify torturing people then lie about the whole thing to congress and anyone who will confront him with any of it.

A man who can harass abuse and possibly rape a girl is very easily the same man who when grown writes justifications for torturing human beings as an adult.

This all fits a pattern I've seen way too many times in my life.

This man isn't fit to be on our supreme court.

You don't think it's strange that in the 35 years since then there has been no accusation of misconduct and no abuse? Nobody he has ever worked with, no inappropriate remarks or touches? Patterns don't change when you turn 19, do you not think it's weird how all of these accusations are so vague and unsubstantiated and all of them by Democrat women supported by Democrat lawyers, and surfaced at the same time? If you were at a party that you didn't have permission to attend or your parents would never allow you to attend, drinking even though you aren't old enough to drink and then ended up with someone sexually assaulting or raping you and you couldn't even try to fight them off because you were so intoxicated, you really think you'd want to make things even worse by telling Mom & Dad?

We're looking at the decisions that weren't made by individuals whom we don't deem mature enough to be able to legall drink or give consent in some cases and judging them by what we as adults would have or should have done.
