I hope they rule the right way.

Overruling the president it's something that will happen under our separation of powers but it should be rare and only happen after lot of deliberation and cases adjudicated up to the highest court in the land.

Nobody regardless of party, position or policy could run the executive for the nation if they have to be concerned about being, constantly "corrected" by more than eight hundred federal judges.

Same thing. The district judges ordered Trump to stop imposing limits on citizenship, as they likely should IMHO. There was a lot of discussion involving class of those filing suit. If it was limited in scope, so should the ruling.

I predict SCOTUS will rule for the 14th and recommend changing the Constitution if so warranted, but that just MHO. I don't think Trump can overrule precedent with an EO.

I think SCOTUS will also restrict judges from issuing nationwide rulings because they do not have the power. They should rule, stay it and appeal it up to SCOTUS for a final ruling.

If they can, when they can and what sort of mechanism could take their place.

I listened to all 2 hours of argument. I did not get that impression.
I got the impression that the court wanted to limit the circumstances that a ruling could be applied nation-wide..and fast-track emergent issues straight to them.
The concern expressed by a number of Justices was that if you limited district court ruling to the District..or to the class represented--that the Executive Branch would simply exempt that class or defendant...and continue on with their criminal behavior.

Which is, of course, exactly what Trump is doing and will continue do~
