Let me tell you what happens now.

Smith will now file a PUBLIC brief, laying out all the evidence he has, in order to allow the judge to rule on what facts fall under the immunity ruling.

The important word is public. Usually this is done in the actual trial. Where defense attorneys have the opportunity to muddy the water. Here, no such luck. For instance Meadows could hide behind executive privilege to avoid testifying before the Jan 6th committee. That doesn't work in a criminal investigation. Pence the same.

In other words we will learn EXACTLY what was going on in the Trump administration after he lost the election. And even if the conduct is deemed to fall under immunity it will STILL be public.

That doesn't sound like good news for Trump in my opinion.

I can show the tweets send by Trump pressuring Pence to reject the actual slates of electors. Several people have already plead out for their role in the plot. I can show the photographs of the reams of classified documents at Mar O Lago. And the affidavit of the Trump lawyers there weren't any. Etc. Etc.

BTW, the Democrats had them for the States that Trump won just as Republicans had them for the States that Biden clearly won...such as Kalifornia.
