Judge Blocks National Guard deployment to Portland

My guess, blue slip. She's been steeped in Oregon for some time.
1,000% Kudos for not knowing what you're talking about

The blue slip refers to a paper form, literally a blue piece of paper, the Senate Judiciary Committee has used for more than a century to give home-state senators the courtesy to show their endorsement or disapproval for a presidential nomination in their home state.

A blue slip doesn't choose a judicial nominee.

The blue slip process is a courtesy extended by Committee chairmen, not a binding Senate rule

It's funny how people can be criminals without ever getting a trial, or getting convicted.

I dont understand the argument that we should just let him go if he is such a hardened criminal.

What message does that send? Come here, be a criminal and if you happened to get caught we will just deport you.

How can a judge or court rule on something that hasn't happened yet? How can you have standing if there has been no action to harm anyone?
