Judge Aileen Cannon

Ed Meese, Ronald Reagan Attorney General.

Let's see, 9 Special Counsels during the Reagan Administration. So his opinion was it was OK for Reagan, but not OK for a DEM President.

Sorry, I don't take that seriously.

Did you bother to look up how many were confirmed by the Senate? If not you have completely missed the point. I'll wait.

Feel free to check in addition, but I couldn't find where any of the Reagan Administration Special Counsels faces Senate confirmation.

If you have something different on the 9 names listed above please share. I'll be happy to stand corrected.

Its not just the Special Counsels, but how they were approved.
If Meese's were all approved by the senate, then your argument is void.

I can agree with that. The NY Laws were specifically revised to "get Trump".
The expired misdemeanors were allowed to be resurrected to get Trump without proving another crime.
So in my non-legal opinion the laws and judges will be the basis for reversal, not the prosecutor.

None of that is true. So no basis for reversal based on any of that.

These laws were not revised to get trump as they existed before Trump was president.

The expired misdemeanor is irrelevant because Trump wasn't charged with a misdemeanor.

And the other crime was proved.

OK, heard that on TV. No matter.

For the appeal process I like Turley's rationale'.

Looks like a whole lot of nothing he's throwing at the wall, hoping something sticks.

She's about to get herself removed.

OMG, the Republican judges are corrupt. The Supreme's and now this woman. I knew Republicans who claim to be "strict constitutionalists" were just bullshitters. They can deem anything they don't like as unconstitutional. And this woman's justification for throwing this case out is laughable.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon on Monday dismissed the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump over the manner in which special counsel Jack Smith was appointed.

“The Superseding Indictment is DISMISSED because Special Counsel Smith’s appointment violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution,” wrote Cannon, who was appointed to the bench by the former president. She said the Constitution gives only Congress or the president the authority to appoint a special counsel — not the U.S. Attorney General.

I believe they did something similar to the EPA. It's unconstitutional too.

What is wrong with Biden and Merrick Garland? Why/WHO appointed a Trump judge to oversee his crimes? It's bad enough the Supreme's are protecting him now this?

I don't want to hear Republicans ever again complain about crooked politicians. The Supreme's say presidents are above the law as long as it's in their official capacity and Senators can't take bribes but they can. My god!

Americans like other humans are dumb as fuck. Remember Occupy Wallstreet? We had the bad actors stone cold busted. But in a few weeks Republicans were going after Occupy Walstreet protesters.

We are sheep. All this anti abortion stuff? I see women bending over and taking it. They get mad when they hear about Project 2025 but then forget what it is a day later.

The whole thing is downright embarrassing to the country.

Lib loons have hissies when judges follow actually current law rather than imposing their feelings of how they wish laws were.

In the top image Judge Cannon accepts that SC Smith is an inferior officer.

In the second image the Constitution specifies that Department Heads can appoint inferior officers without Senate confirmation as long as the Congress has authorized such appointments in law.

Third and fourth images are the United States Code where Congress has authorized the United States Attorney General (a Department Head) specific authority to hire special attorney's to investigate and prosecute federal crimes.

Yeah for the purpose of that order, and she highlights that was contested when she wrote that order

She has since ruled on the issue and ruled he was in fact a principal officer
