Journalist Shot By Israeli Sniper -- Did She Have It Coming??

She got her "facts" from Arab sources. No one seems to be waiting for the result of the investigation. Why?

A Palestinian Forensic Doctor is not accusing Israel of killing the Journalist. Why are so many others jumping to accuse Israel?

honest doc. At the funeral procession, arab muslims engaged in the
arab muslim custom of bringing machine guns as a sign to prestige, to
the funeral and shooting bullets into the air to celebrate the glory of allah.
It is a cultural thing. IDF security responded to security concerns. Note that
the walls there are stone and bullets DO RICOCHET

In a statement, Israeli police said that “under the auspices of the funeral and taking cynical advantage of it, hundreds of people began disrupting the public order before it even began.”

“As the coffin was about to exit the hospital, stones began to be thrown at officers from the hospital’s plaza, and the officers were forced to use riot dispersal means,” police said. There was no immediate comment from Palestinian authorities.

the best response to rock throwing palis would be return rock
throwing. A well trained rock thrower could easily knock off
at least a few rock throwers with well aimed rocks to the side
of the head.

The reason they are claiming in this report is that they were throwing stones. I have a feeling this is not the first time Israel has dishonoured a funeral and there is no way I believe anything they say as I know from experience that they do not speak honestly when it does not suit them.

Unbelievable. First they possibly killed her and even they admit that is a possibility hmmmmm. Then they attack her funeral possession.

You do not know what actually happened during that funeral.
The police would not have entered that vipers nest, in the middle of endless attacks on Jews since before Ramadan, and started anything in the middle of that very hot atmosphere, had they not had a real reason to do it.

Were some Arabs trying to walk away with the coffin instead of taking it to the church?

Do remember that she was a Christian and most of the people there were Muslims.

What did actually happen?

Please be curious instead of accusatory.

CAMERA’s Israel office yesterday prompted correction of Associated Press captions which stated as fact the unverified claim that Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh “was shot dead by Israeli forces.” There is no substantiation of this allegation, with the Palestinian side having blocked the necessary ballistic analysis to match the fired bullet to the weapons used by the Israeli troops.

The problematic captions as they originally appeared follow:

In response to communication from CAMERA, AP yesterday commendably corrected these captions, which now accurately state that“Shireen Abu Akleh was killed while covering a military operation in the occupied West Bank.” In addition, the photographs carry a prominent heading stating: “Correction Israel Palestinians” and the captions begin with the label “CORRECTS CIRCUMSTANCES.”

Following communication from CAMERA’s Israel office, Agence France Presse today amended a headline which stated as fact the unverified, disputed claim that Israeli troops fatally shot Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Aqleh.

The news agency’s headline had stated “Al Jazeera journalist killed by Israeli forces in West Bank” (6:24 am GMT). (The original headline is still available at France 24).

No investigation had been completed to make this determination and big questions surround the circumstances of the fatal shooting that took place this morning during a gun battle between Israeli troops and Palestinian gunmen.

The article itself acknowledges a military official said:
“There is an ongoing inquiry into this event. We offered and want to conduct a joint investigation with the Palestinians.”
The army said there was an exchange of fire between suspects and security forces and that it was “investigating the event and looking into the possibility that journalists were hit by the Palestinian gunmen.”
As reported by Haaretz and others, however, Palestinians have reportedly refused to cooperate on an investigation, a fact which AFP did not report. In addition, Palestinian boasts during the battle that they hit an Israeli soldier when no soldier was hit raise questions about who hit Abu Aqleh. Haaretzreported:
During the raid, according to the military, militants opened fire at the Israeli forces and hurled explosives at them, before the soldiers returned fire. No casualties were reported among the Israeli force. . . .
“I don’t think we killed her,” Ran Kochav, a spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, told Kan public broadcaster. “We proposed to the Palestinians to open a swift joint probe. If we indeed killed her, we’ll take responsibility, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.”
“If the Palestinians cooperate we’ll have better answers,” Kochav said, arguing “they might have a good reason” not to. According to him, “the Red Crescent took the body away” immediately after the shooting.
According to the military’s Arabic-language spokesman, footage shared on social media shows Palestinian gunmen in Jenin “boasting about hitting a soldier lying on the ground,” but no Israeli soldiers were hit at all.
“Palestinian gunmen were firing indiscriminately,” spokesman Avichay Adraee said . . .

This article speaks about what she meant to the Palestinian people. It also makes the point that for journalists in Israel/Palestine being shot by an Israel is nothing out of the ordinary. They go on to suggest it was the fact that the coffin was draped in the Palestine flag was the reason Israelis could not allow it to progress. The fact that Israelis believe they can act like this imo says how far they have gone or how far gone they are.

What happened last week is not shocking. Over 50 journalists have been killed by the occupation since the Second Intifada. The scale of mourning in reaction to her murder is furthered elevated by the 74th commemoration of the Nakba and exactly one year since Zionist settlers, hand in hand with occupation soldiers, violently accelerated the dispossession of families in Sheikh Jarrah.
.........................................................

Shireen Abu Akleh is the response to this question. Her funeral in Jerusalem alone is a testament to the impact that her voice has made on the ground. Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country arrived to Jerusalem on Friday, reclaiming the city as Palestinian, with flags raised fearlessly despite the brutal force seen as her coffin was attacked by Israeli police in response to the flag in which it was wrapped.

The below article makes clear that no stones were thrown until after the attack. It says that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians attended the funeral.
At around 1 p.m., when a hearse arrived to take Abu Akleh’s body to its burial place, some of the Palestinians in the procession announced that they wanted to carry her on foot — as is customary during Palestinian political funerals — to the Old City, and from there to be buried in Mount Zion Cemetery. Police tried to force the family to arrange for the body to be transported in advance, but from the public’s point of view, the funeral should have taken place according to the family’s desires, not those of the police.

By now, the images of what happened next have spread far and wide, shocking the world. As the coffin was removed from the morgue, hundreds began marching toward the exit gate of the hospital, where dozens of riot police officers armed with batons were waiting for them. The police began brutally beating the mourners as they carried the coffin, almost causing it to fall. Contrary to police claims, no stones had been thrown. Only after the officers tried to disperse the crowd with batons and stun grenades were several objects, mostly bottles, thrown at them.

All this translates to the average news consumer only knowing about the response (the effect) and not the cause. This means that for the average news consumer, all they are reading about or seeing is the firemen taking an ax to a door – they have no idea that the firemen are responding to a fire.

This leads demonization leads to delegitimization. After all, if Israeli soldiers, without any context or apparent cause are going into places like Jenin “gun blazing,” then why not accuse them of “murder” without any evidence – asIlhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and many international media outlets did within minutes of Abu Akleh’s death, and before there was even a hint of an investigation (let alone an impartial one using actual forensics). And if you believe Israel is just attacking people without reason, because you never read about bombs being blown up on Israeli buses, the thousands of rockets fired at Israel from Gaza, or the string of mass-murder attacks directed by terrorist groups in Jenin, then you may be quick to conclude those Jews and their Jewish state are just too evil to exist anymore.

Lastly, we have the infamous double standard, which as Sharansky has pointed out, gets all too often applied to Israel. Regarding the death of Abu Akleh that double standard is also made evident by some simple Google searches.

In the past 5 years about 400 journalists have been killed covering conflict zones. None have generated a fraction of the media and social media attention that Abu Akleh’s death has generated in barely 2 days.

Recently many reporters have been tragically killed covering the war in Ukraine. When one types in a Google search of the names of the French, American or Ukrainian journalists killed covering the war in Ukraine, the average search yields 226,000 results. But, when one types in the name of “Shireen Abu Akleh,” that search yields 18,200,000 results.

Was the death of Abu Akleh really 80 times more important and newsworthy than that of the reporters killed in Ukraine?

Certainly, for those who wish to demonize Israel, by applying to it standards of conduct and scrutiny that are applied to no other country, it must be. After all, jumping on the anti-Israel bandwagon this week was Susan Sarandon, who within hours of Abu Akleh’s death, and with no evidence whatsoever, tweeted that “Israeli snipers” had “executed” her. Meanwhile, over the past year, as 70 journalists were killed, Ms. Sarandon apparently only tweeted about one, Abu Akleh. And over the past 3 years, as over 150 journalists were killed, Ms. Sarandon apparently only tweeted about one, Abu Akleh.

As many Jews, all too use to the Three D’s, and how they are regularly applied to our indigenous homeland, Israel, often say: “No Jews, No News.” While this may be cynical, it is also sadly painfully true.

It is also painfully clear to anyone paying attention, how much of the mainstream media, social media, and those who wish to destroy Israel, like the Qatari owners of Al Jazeera, are using the death of Abu Akleh – an unfortunate and very likely accidental tragedy to attack Israel. By using the new antisemitism, which is almost as old as the Arab-Israeli conflict itself, to demonize and delegitimize Israel and apply to it standards of conduct that are applied to no other country.

Well there are always two sides to every story particularly with a woman who was so well thought of that hundreds of thousands apparently came to see her off. We may or may not eventually get the truth sometime as to who killed her. I am satisfied that stones were not the reason for the Israeli attack on the funeral procession. Hopefully we will eventually find out who killed her, Given that another reporter was shot in the back at the same time and said they were shot to stop them filming, .........

That is news to me:
"Given that another reporter was shot in the back at the same time and said they were shot to stop them filming, ........."

Which source did you get that from?

I put it in here early on. It may have been Al Jazeera which is who she worked for. Your belief that who you support always says the truth and those with a different opinion always lie shows very little understanding of how the media works.

OK here is what those there said

Ramallah, Occupied West Bank – Israeli forces have shot dead Al Jazeera’s journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in the occupied West Bank, according to witnesses and the Palestinian health ministry.
..........................................

Abu Akleh was wearing a press vest and was standing with other journalists when she was killed.

Another Al Jazeera journalist, Ali al-Samoudi, was also wounded by a bullet in the back at the scene. He is now in stable condition.

The head of the medicine department at al-Najah University in Nablus confirmed that Abu Akleh was shot in the head. He said that her body was transferred for an autopsy based on an order from the public prosecution.
....................

Al-Samoudi and other journalists at the scene said there were no Palestinian fighters present when the journalists were shot, directly disputing an Israeli statement referencing the possibility that it was Palestinian fire.

“We were going to film the Israeli army operation and suddenly they shot us without asking us to leave or stop filming,” said al-Samoudi.

“The first bullet hit me and the second bullet hit Shireen … there was no Palestinian military resistance at all at the scene.”

Shatha Hanaysha, a local journalist who was standing next to Abu Akleh when she was shot, also told Al Jazeera that there had been no confrontations between Palestinian fighters and the Israeli army. She said the group of journalists had been directly targeted.

Thanks, it is still questionable as to whose bullets hit them. One thing is for sure, the Palestinian side is not allowing the Israeli side to look at the bullets to find out if it came from their side.

Either way, both were in the wrong place at the wrong time and any loss of life in the crossfire is a sad one.

If the shoe fits

Israelis were the first to engage in “terrorism”. In fact they coined the phrase through their own actions.
