John Thune elected Majority leader

Yeah, he has no use for the vampire Putin.
The majority leader doesn't need the ability to deal in foreign policy, with Putin.
There's a new thread on dealing with Putin. Take it there.

There is indeed a threat from Iran, China, and Russia too.

But you've led the discussion off topic, so let's talk about the situation somewhere else.
I have led the discussion off-topic? You’re the one who brought up a “Zionist” threat. Just can’t resist a smack against Jews, even though the topic if John Thine.

Good. An intelligent, normal, decent, mature adult.

My standards for this administration are such that anything above Alex Jones, Rosanne Barr and Nick Fuentes will be considered a moral victory.

He should continue to follow the Schumer Rule and hold off all appointments until Trump is inaugurated

Just Mr. Irreverent
Dumb fucking Canuck

I heard this guy speak, good luck MAGA. He oozes "Cheney Conservative".

Trump is going to have to plan with Musk on how to get around this guy and/or make him get on board. The cost to him if he does not, must be to neuter him or cost him his job.

I know you have three branches of government but you elect one president. The other branches must push back when it makes sense but they can't ignore or subvert the will of the voting public. Am I right or not? Do I understand your system or am I out to lunch?

I listened to the GOP team and I couldn't imagine any of them winning the presidents office. They owe all of their power to Trumps victory. Without Trump they do NOT have a majority that is for sure.

Musk endorsed Rick Scott for a reason I presume.

Yet another warmongering Zionist.
Yep, we are about to fuck up the Palestinians for REAL now. The past year has been a walk in the park. Trump isnt going to tie Israels hands like Biden did. Now they have a green light to go ham on those scumbag palis.

Zionism is about to see a golden age.

You can tell by the pro-Israel appointments he’s already made - StefaniK at the antisemitic U.N. and Huckabee as ambassador to Israel.

Iran, HAMAS, Hezbollah, etc., know fully well that the full might of America is behind Israel - not Islamic terrorists and their supporters.

His head of the DoD pick is the most interesting pick when it comes to Israel. I heard a video earlier of him saying...

"Israel needs to stack bodies of terrorists. Kill every last one of those Hamas motherfuckers. You get peace by utterly destroying the enemy."

He literally used those words.

This is a good pick. Dems can work with him, and he is not pro-Trump.

John Thune (R-S.D.) has been elected Senate majority leader, setting the stage for him to replace retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who has held the top Senate GOP leadership job for the past 18 years.

Thune has served as Senate Republican whip, the No. 2-ranking position in the Senate GOP leadership, since 2019, and largely managed operation of the Senate floor since McConnell suffered a concussion from a fall in 2023.

Thune is well-liked among his Senate Republican colleagues and his affable, humble approach to managing the conference has earned the trust and confidence of fellow GOP senators.

He announced his intention to run for leader shortly after McConnell said in February that he would retire from the GOP leadership at the end of this year.

His main competition for the past eight months of the race has been Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a formidable fundraiser, who served as Senate Republican whip from 2013 to 2019.

Cornyn tried to portray himself in the race as an agent of change, promising to give rank-and-file Republicans more opportunity to debate and amendment legislation on the Senate floor.

I’m sure Thune is pro-Republican president no matter who that is.

I agree with him. We’re done with the Dems’ soft approach to trying to humanize these monsters.
