It is truly sad that the most important job on the planet is not being pursued by educated, talented people who have a strong sense of economics and a balanced worldview.

It happens so often that I have to believe it's not an accident.

The minimum requirements for that job should include a master's degree in economics,
A BA in political science and several minor degrees in human services related fields.

The pay should be several million dollars a year or more in order to attract truly talented people.

The candidates should all be vetted according to experience in the private sector showing a good record of financial success, balance and a willingness to reinvest.

For the most important job on the planet I don't think that's too much to ask.
